Questions and answers
Questions that come in during the campaign get answered here, in public, as they arrive.
If yours is not here, ask: info@seven.systems. If it is a question other people are likely to have, it ends up on this page.
The campaign page also has a standing set of answers about the licence, the money and what happens after release.
Asked so far
Is there a manual?
For the editing side, yes: the Xequence 2 manual covers the arranger, pianoroll, controller editor and keyboard in depth. The setup and MIDI chapters there are iOS-specific and do not apply to Xequence Audio. The mixer and the Hybris synth are not documented yet.
So this DAW will require an internet connection and a browser?
Actually, not really. It does require a browser to be available on the system, but once Xequence Audio is installed to the desktop as an app (which you can already do with the demo), it will open and look like any regular native app on your system. No browser window or tab.
Regarding an internet connection: This is still required in the current demo, but once Xequence Audio is open-sourced, it is not difficult for a contributor (or myself) to make it work with local files only, no internet connection required, nothing ever leaves your computer or other device.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Yes. They are new in the browser version, so they are not in the iOS manual. Full list: keyboard shortcuts.
Will this run on my phone?
The editing side already does, and it is genuinely good there: the arranger, pianoroll and controller editors were built multi-touch first and work properly on a small screen. The mixer and the Hybris patch editor are currently not displaying properly on a phone, which is what the € 20,000 goal is for.
